was with co.b 158th when 1st activated at camp evens in 1969. I remember our call sign was peace maker until one night some of us painted the peace symbol on our white tailboom identifier.
This did not go over very well so they changed our call sign to Lancer.
I had spent a tour with the 4th infantry and extended to be a door gunner with the 101. most of the gunners coming on at that time were volunteers from other units and grunts like myself who had extended. I remember when we went in and opened up the Ash Vally,hamburger hill, ccn missions and all the rest.Iwas home on leave when my good friend Micheal Cox and crew went down. Was able to meet with his folks in Sacramento and attend his service.He was laid to rest in the court of honor right next to my grandfather who served in w0rld war two. Lots of other things I can share.

Formed B Co., 158th AVN BN Lancers at fort Carson, CO, Fall 1968. New UH-1H helicopters flown to Stockton, CA Jan. 1969. Company personnel arrive Danang RVN FEB 1969.
