Kenneth James Webb

1970

On Friday, June 23, 2000 one of our own, Ken Webb, was taken from us. For all of us who knew Ken, this is an especially tragic event as he was only 50 years old. While I had just recently met Ken just a few weeks ago at the reunion of the 101st Airborne Association at Ft Campbell, KY, I felt that I have known him for a long time. Our communications via the emails of our Lancer net have personally meant a lot. Ken always had the writing skills to tell even the saddest of stories with a bit of humor that would make reading easier.

If I may speak for all of Ken's Lancer and Redskin brothers, our lives and memories have only improved for having known you. God Bless and our prayers and thoughts go out to your family in their time of sorrow.

(l. to r.) Paul Cole, Will Webb, Sandy Webb and Steve Crimm

Steve Crimm and I presented the memorial plaque to Sandy and Will Webb on Sunday, 10/15/00 at 10:30AM in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The 3397th Garrison Support Unit held a formation in front of the US Army Reserve Center and Colonel Atkins, CO, called us forward to present the memorial plaque.  The words on the plaque were read aloud by Major Schrow from the 3397th -- as we presented it to Sandy and Will Webb.  The tribute was written by Bill Walker, Lancer-17.

It was a nice ceremony and very much appreciated by Sandy and Will.

Best regards,

Paul
