I’m the son of
John Seiler. My father John Seiler passed tonight @ 2030.
His DD 214 B
company 158 aviation Battalion section leader 101st airborne division. I’m
building a shadow box for myself and my mother. If you have insignia, photos,
crest or anything I can add please share with me.
All I have are
these screen shots. As a child he never
really spoke about Vietnam. As an adult I worked as a flight paramedic. Then he
really started talking to me about it.
Sincerely,
Kevin Seiler

Kevin: I am Lance Ruck, President of the Lancer
Association. Walter White provided information on our Facebook site.
I regret I did not
see the request for donations in lieu of flowers as flowers have been
sent.
Please give me
your address and I shall send you a Lancer Sticker (an exact replica of our
patch) possibly for your shadowbox; regret I no longer have any B/158 lapel
pins except the one I wear on my suit. IF I can find anything else appropriate,
I will send it.
My condolences to
you and your family. Apparently, John served with the Original Lancers who went
to Vietnam in 1968/69 - I was there in 70/71. Lance E. Ruck - Lancer 13.
PS: We have a
very large Lancer Family with includes Vietnam Lancers and Modern-Day Lancers -
we even have a 501 c 19 tax exempt charity which pays for flowers/etc. and has
aided current Lancers since 2000 to the tune of approximately $20,000. Every Lancer
who served is a member and there are no dues - all which has been done is by
the generosity of our members.
Fraternally,
Lanny Ruck

Lanny,
I thank you, from
me and my family. This started just as me trying to create a shadow box, to
give to my mother. Your organization has also pointed me to the patriot guard.
You and your organizations support is helping my
family. I can’t express our gratitude enough.
I believe I’m the
only child which my father spoke to in-depth about Vietnam. I know his time
with the 101st always had a special place in his heart. I one of his wishes
even though he retired in armor was to be buried in his flight suit.
Kevin Seiler
