MICHAEL JAMES NAZARCHYK

Michael James Nazarchyk of Vancouver, WA passed away on April 4, 2009 at the age of 60.
He was born in New London, CT on October 3, 1948 to John and Mary Ann Nazarchyk.
He graduated from New London High School 1968.

Michael served in the U.S. Army from September 1969 to April 1971 as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam. He was in the 101st Airborne (Lancer B Co. 158 Airmobile).

Michael was a member of the VFW post 5849 (Niantic, CT), the Knights of Columbus Council #12899 and an usher at Holy Redeemer Parish (Vancouver, WA). He was a member of St. John Evangelist Church for 11 years before moving to Holy Redeemer Parish.

He was a pressman and lead person at Wright Business Graphics in Gresham, OR for the past 18 years.
Michael had many hobbies and interests. He loved photography, bird watching, hiking, gardening, traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with his children and eight grandchildren. He had a passion for volunteering at his church.

He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made.

Michael is survived by his wife, Ingrid Nazarchyk, of 34 years; and children, Natalie Craven (Gales Ferry, CT), Carrie Norman (Boulder City, NV), Stephen Nazarchyk (Fort Lewis, WA), and Jenny Johnson (El Cajon, CA); his mother, Mary Ann Nazarchyk (Niantic, CT); brothers, John Nazarchyk (Athens, AL) and Richard Nazarchyk (Waterford, CT); and sister, Maryann Nazarchyk (Niantic, CT).
He was preceded in death by his father.
