Bill Walker

I just got a text message from Mary Jo Agostino, Pete's wife.

On January 8th, Pete, and Mary Jo both came down with Covid. Mary Jo came out of it, OK.

But Pete really never did.   He was hospitalized 6 times since then and been on a ventilator and then on oxygen ever since.

Last week he caught some other respiratory infection, and Mary Jo took him back to the hospital. He died there either yesterday or Sunday.

What a great guy.  This one really hurts, too.  (They all do). Pete was my co-pilot when we got hit by the mortar.

When I learn more about the funeral, which is to be a memorial service on the 23rd, I'll forward it to the group.  She said that the obituary is not yet completed.

 Steve (RS16)

I believe he flew DC-9s for Airborne Express. Bristol, Pa.?

Barry Beard

Oh no!  One of my Dad’s WWII friends was part of a group that bought a bottle of wine, with the understanding that the last man of the group would make a final toast from the bottle.

Steve (RS16)

This is why I am taking the necessary precautions against Covid.  We’ve lived through enough already.

Gary Bowman

As are we, Steve.  We're both fully vaccinated, but still wear masks everywhere we go and don't mingle with anyone but family.  And even that with precautions.  This ain't over!

Bill Walker

My wife and I have been very vigilant.

Pete is the 7th person we know who died as a result of Covid. Only one had pre-existing conditions.

It’s the real deal, and I really get angry with those who resist wearing masks or getting the shot.

How can you be more afraid of the shot than you are of this potential killer!

Timothy Pasquarelli

Thanks for passing this along Billy. I remember Pete as a great guy. Never bitched. Did his duty. Always a smile. Gave me good thoughts and ideas when he checked in for missions up in the Ops shop. A solid pilot. A brother. I feel badly we never crossed paths along our separate journeys in life.

Tom Smith

Pete was a GREAT guy, and I will always remember his contagious laugh.

Pete your work here is complete. Now go rest high on the mountain.

Bill Brown

Slow hand salute.
